Rec Leagues
Sparrows
Kindergarten (co-ed)
This is a developmental league focused on teaching the kids the very basics of basketball including:
- How to dribble, pass & shoot
- How the game is played
- Defense basics
- Rebounding basics
- 4 vs. 4 games (see rules for more details)
Robins
1st & 2nd Grade
Our CBA Robins league is for 1st & 2nd grade boys and girls (two separate leagues).
This is a developmental league focused on teaching the kids the very basics of basketball including:
- How to dribble with both hands, pass (bounce & chest) & shoot (layups & jump shots)
- How the game is played
- Defense basics
- Rebounding basics
- 4 vs. 4 games (see rules for more details)
Blue Jays
3rd & 4th Grade Boys & 3rd-5th Grade Girls
Our CBA Blue Jays league is for 3rd & 4th grade boys & 3rd-5th grade girls (two separate leagues).
This is a developmental league focused on teaching the kids the very basics of basketball including:
- Intermediate basketball skills – dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting
- How the game is played
- Defense basics – steals are allowed inside 3-pt. line
- 5 vs. 5 games (see rules for more details)
Cardinals
5th & 6th Grade Boys
Our CBA Boys Cardinals league is for 5th & 6th grade boys.
This is a developmental league focused on teaching the kids the very basics of basketball including:
- Intermediate to advanced basketball skills – dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting
- How the game is played
- Defense basics – this is real basketball
- 5 vs. 5 games (see rules for more details)
Eagles
6th-8th Grade Girls
Our CBA Girls Eagles league is for 6th-8th grade girls.
This is a developmental league focused on teaching the kids the very basics of basketball including:
- Intermediate to advanced basketball skills – dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting
- How the game is played
- Defense basics – this is real basketball
- 5 vs. 5 games (see rules for more details)
Hawks
7th & 8th Grade Boys
Our CBA Boys Hawks league is for 7th & 8th grade boys.
This is a developmental league focused on teaching the kids the very basics of basketball including:
- Intermediate to advanced basketball skills – dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting
- How the game is played
- Defense basics – this is real basketball

Falcons
High School
Our CBA High School league is for 9th-12th graders.
This is one of the few recreational high school leagues in Northern Illinois! With over 200 players each season, it offers a fun and competitive way for high school kids to play 1-2 games on weekends, officiated by certified IHSA referees.
The Falcons teams don’t hold weekday practices, and games are typically scheduled on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and/or Sundays.
